Following are the details and information on the logistics and organisation of this year´s
General Assembly of the International IALANA from Thursday the 16th of June to Sunday the
19th of June 2011 in Szczecin (Poland).
Poland is a member of the Schengen Convention, so the Schengen visa is accepted. If you
need a visa, please contact Pasquale Policastro immediatly.
We expect your arrival to be on Thursday till 9 p.m., please contact us if you arrive later in
Szczecin or if you arrive in Berlin late in the evening (or on Wednesday), so we can help you
to find an accommodation for the night.
1. Route:
a) By bus
The easiest way to Szczecin would be by plane to Berlin and from there by bus shuttle.
From both Berlin airports Tegel and Schönefeld there is a bus shuttle to PKP Szczezin
Glówny. Departure is every hour from 9.15 a.m. to 10.15p.m.at Schönefeld and from 9.40
a.m. to 9.40 p.m. at Tegel. A one way ticket costs 75 PLN (circa 26 US-$) with Interglobus
and the bus arrives 50 meters from the railway station. The journey takes short of 3 hours.

b) By train
You can also get from Berlin to Szczecin by train.
From Berlin-Tegel, take the Bus TXL (Alexanderplatz) to S Beusselstraße anf then the S 41
(Ringbahn) to Berlin Gesundbrunnen. From there the train to Szczecin Glowny departs. The
journey this way takes about 2 ½ hours.
From Berlin-Schönefeld, take the regional train to Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Depending on the
time of departure, take f.e. the Eurocity till Pasewalk and from there the Regional-Express to
Szczecin Glówny.

2. Hotel:
We made reservations for the participants of the General Assembly in the Ibis Szczecin
Centrum.
The current prices are 169 PLN (59 US-$) for a single room for night and 198 PLN (69 US-$)
for a double room for night.

3. Venue:
The lectures and events of the General Assembly will take place in facilities of the University
Szczezin.

Commonly, June is one of the best times to travel to Poland, the average temprature is just
over 20 °C at daytime and and around 11°C by night, so you should be comfortable enjoying
